After a standout career at Oklahoma, Garret Hartley was signed midway through the 2008 season after going undrafted in that years’ draft. He was an integral piece of the special teams unit immediately, making the first 16 field goals of his career, an NFL record at the time. In five seasons with New Orleans, he made 82-of-101 field goals (81.2%) and missed just one extra point. He was a perfect eight for eight in his play off career, including making five field goals during the Saints 2009 Super Bowl XLIV run. Hartley is most known for his game winning kick in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship to send the Saints to the Super Bowl. The Keller, TX native then followed that up by making all three kicks in the Super Bowl win against Indianapolis, becoming the first kicker in Super Bowl history to convert three field goals of 40 yards or more.
