Usama Young was a stalwart on special teams for the Saints during his four-year tenure with the franchise. One of the club’s two third-round picks in 2007(66th overall), no Saint recorded as many special teams stops as Young’s 57 in that timeframe. For the Black and Gold, he appeared in 52 games with six starts and made 67 tackles (58 solo),three interceptions, one sack and 14 pass breakups, while adding 57 special teams tackles. He played in four postseason contests as well for New Orleans, with his most memorable performance coming in Super Bowl XLIV, where he was part of “Ambush”, the special teams unit that recovered the onside kick helping the Saints beat the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl XLIV. Currently, Usama serves as the senior manager of player engagement at the NFL league office.
