Scott Shanle started 94-of-97 games for the Saints after being drafted in the seventh round (251st overall) by the St. Louis Rams in the 2003 NFL Draft. From 2006-2012, Shanle racked up 490 tackles (344 solo) (top ten in team history), 7.5 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, four recoveries, three interceptions and 18 passes defensed for the Black and Gold defense. The former Nebraska standout was an integral part of New Orleans’ Super Bowl XLIV Championship run, starting all three contests alongside LBs Jonathan Vilma and Scott Fujita, totaling 24 tackles and two passes defensed. After retiring from the NFL, Shanle has remained involved, attending all Saints home games as a pregame & postgame analyst.
