One of the best defensive lineman in franchise history, Wayne Martin played in 171 games and recorded 596 tackles, 82.5 sacks (third most in club history), 12 forced fumbles, and 13 recoveries. Known as an iron man, Martin played all 16 contests in 10 of his 11 seasons with the Black and Gold. He recorded double digit sacks five times from 1992-1997 and was selected once to the Pro Bowl and once as an All-Pro. His All-Pro selection followed a season in which he recorded a career-high 15.5 sacks as part of a12-4 campaign for New Orleans in 1992. His best game as a Saint came in a victory over the Atlanta Falcons, finishing with eight tackles and four sacks.
